This elegant porcelain gaiwan was manufactured in Jingdezhen, a city in Northeastern Jiangxi province known as the Porcelain Capital of China.

The decoration is in the classic blue on white style, and incorporates a Phoenix (bird) and Peony (flower) motif.  The shape is wide and flat, and It holds approximately 125 ml when filled to the rim.  It is made of good quality, thin walled ceramic.
