Spring Teas on the Way:
We
anticipate the arrival of our first shipment of green and white teas by
mid-March, and we can't wait. This time of year is pure bliss for
green tea lovers, and I can almost taste the freshness of the Mao Feng
as I type this message.
Despite
serious drought conditions in Yunnan (reportedly the worst in 60
years), the tea harvest doesn't appear to have been dramatically
impacted yet. We are anticipating the possibility of some Yunnan tea
shortages later in the season if the drought continues, but the good
news is that we have plenty of product en route and do not think our
retail prices will be impacted at all. So we got that going for us,
which is nice!
First
on the list this
Spring Season is the first plucks of the year of our current Green
& White tea selections, including our Yunnan Mao Feng (My personal
favorite), Single Bud Bi Luo Chun, a great batch of the earliest Spring
Silver Needles, and the first pluck of our surprise hit from last year,
a Wild White Tea called "Ya Bao."
We are in the
process of selecting some new Spring harvest green & white teas for
our product catalog from Yunnan and other parts of China, too. I'll
keep you all posted on the developments as the teas start to come in
throughout the Spring season.
