Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Relief Resources

Ladies and Gentlemen-

Our hearts and prayers go out to all of our brothers and sisters suffering because of the recent earthquake and tsunami tragedy in Japan.

After significant reflection, we have come to the conclusion that charitable donations are, in our view at least, a personal matter, and we do not want to give any impression that we might be using the Japan earthquake disaster to promote our company or market our products in any way. For this reason, we have opted to encourage people to contribute directly to the humanitarian aid organization of their choice rather than starting a formal fund-raising program through the Norbu Tea Company website.

If you are physically and/or financially able, we encourage you to donate what you can to the humanitarian aid organization of your choice to provide much needed support to relief efforts around the world. From earthquake & tsunami ravaged Japan to areas of unrest in the Middle East and Africa, these non-governmental, humanitarian aid organizations need our help more than ever.

We are not endorsing any one charitable organization over another, but we do encourage donations to the following organizations:

Japanese Red Cross
American Red Cross
UNICEF
Save The Children
Mercy Corps

These are just a few of the organizations doing good work in many different areas of need, and we encourage you to do some research before deciding which charity you wish to donate to.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area friends:
Please consider donating to the Sendai Relief Fund organized by the Japan-America Society of Dallas-Fort Worth. Sendai, one of the hardest hit cities by the earthquake, has been the International Friendship City (Sister City) of Dallas since 1997, and money raised through the JASDFW fund will be sent to organizations involved directly with relief efforts in Sendai.
